Upcoming Drama Series Specials:

Description: Many believers in Christ throughout the world suffer for their faith. Many are harassed or imprisoned. Many have died because of their faith in Jesus. Most likely, more believers have been martyred during the 20th century than during all the years of church history combined. Rather than abating in the 21st century, persecution has intensified. But suffering and martyrdom for God are not new. Early in the story of the human race, Abel was the first to be put to death because of his faith. Many throughout the Old and New Testaments followed in his fate. This two-part series consists of 13 programs that portray the suffering and martyrdom of these persons.

Purpose: The purpose of the series is evangelistic: To lead the listener/reader to trust Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and follow Him. The series makes clear that a person should count the cost of following Jesus. A secondary purpose is to let believers know that they are not alone in their suffering and persecution, that others before them have paid the ultimate price for their faith. But through it all, God has promised: “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Heb. 13:5).

The Final Week of Jesus Earthly Ministry:

Description: The crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the central event in all of human history. The Old Testament looks forward to it; the Gospels proclaim it; and the rest of the New Testament looks back to it and explains it. The death and resurrection of Christ was the main message of the early believers as they traveled throughout the Graeco-Roman world. The apostle Paul wrote, “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the twelve” (1 Cor. 15:3-5). Fanny Crosby, the blind gospel song writer, wrote, “Tell me the story of Jesus, Write on my heart every word; Tell me the story most precious, Sweetest that ever was heard.” This series of 16 dramas tell of the final week in that precious story. Beginning with the encounter with Zacchaeus in Jericho, the dramas follow the events of that last week, including Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the second cleansing of the temple, the plotting of the religious leaders to trap Jesus, the meal in the home of Simon the leper, Jesus’ last meal with His disciples, the betrayal in Gethsemane, the illegal trails of Jesus, the death of Jesus on the cross and His burial, and then His glorious resurrection. The dramas are fast-moving and are riveting in their power to captivate listeners. They are filled with suspense, intrigue, plotting, conflict and resoluteness as Jesus faced the cross. The sufferings of Jesus while on the cross are portrayed in an unforgettable manner. Paul wrote, “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us” (2 Cor. 5:21). It is shocking to hear what this means as He was dying on the cross. The series closes with the women, who came to the empty tomb early on the third day, running to tell the disciples, “He is risen! He is risen!”

Purpose: To lead the listener to commit his or her life to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and follow Him. The series will help the listener understand the purpose and meaning of the crucifixion of Jesus. Believers will be strengthened in their desire to tell others and to stand strong in the face of persecution.

Contemporary Christian Drama

The purpose of these programs is to bring biblical principles and teachings to bear on issues youth and adults face as persons and to help them find personal enrichment. The long-range goal is to lead youth and adults to trust Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Secondary goals are to help youth and adults manage issues and bridge gaps in their personal lives that will lead them to stronger relationships with each other and peers.

These program series will be designed for either an adult or youth listening audience - however either audience would find the series entertaining and personally enriching. They will be written in a contemporary, Western culture setting, but with the Western idiosyncrasies kept to a minimum. They can be contextualized to fit most cultures in the world.

The programs are topical in nature and are stand-alone. They are designed in “menu fashion” to allow our broadcasting partners to pick and choose individual programs to put together to form different drama series that are targeted to specific needs. Each series can be of any length, but it is anticipated that the length be 6-8 programs.
